James Emrys Pfost, DDS "Jim" Jim was born to Ernie and Ruth Pfost on February 7, 1943 and has basically lived in Idaho for most of his life. His father taught him lots about the auto mechanic trade as he was growing up and this led to his love of automobiles today. He also loves the mountains of Idaho and taking pictures of them. He goes "hunting" with his camera. He enjoys snowmobiling and working on his "one acre farm". Jim attended Loyola Dental School in Chicago and graduated in 1969. He enlisted in the Army and then traveled to Vietnam where he began his first dental experiences. In September 1971, he returned to Idaho and opened his first dental office on Curtis Road. He later moved to an office on Glenwood (at the top of the hill from the fairgrounds) and then in 1985 built his current office at 9502 Fairview. He still refers to this as his "new" office and it really is hard to believe that 20 years has passed since he saw his first patient here. Jim became a dentist because he wanted to do something to help people. This has always been his goal. He takes lots of continuing education to keep up on the latest procedures and has always been willing to invest in the latest technology. If he feels that his patients will benefit, then he has always been willing to go the extra mile. Jim is a member of the following organizations:
