COSMETIC TRAINING In January 1999 Dr. Pfost and staff traveled to San Francisco. There they attended a course called PAC-Live which was a comprehensive study of smile design and cosmetic dentistry. There were 38 doctors from all around the country in attendance and each had brought with them a patient as this was a "hands-on" course. It was exciting to see the "before" pictures of the various people and to experience the actual cosmetic procedures and to see the "after temps" pictures and to realize the difference that a beautiful smile can make in an individual. One month later, Dr. Pfost and staff again traveled to California for the "seating" of the finished products. Dr. Pfost's patient was our assistant Melony. She had rotated tooth numbers 7 and 10 and did not want to go through orthodontics. Also, her smile was crooked and with the placement of veneers we were able to straighten # 7 and 10 and give her a more normal smile line. The end result is beautiful! Following are her before and after pictures.
The first picture is of Melony prior to beginning treatment. The second picture is in California the day that her teeth were prepared for crowns and veneers. In the picture, the teeth that you see are temporaries which she wears until our next visit to California nearly one month later.
This picture is a close-up of the temporaries. They look so beautiful it is hard to believe that they are only temporaries. The temporaries are made to be as much like the permanent restorations so that our patient can wear them and make sure that they like the length and shape. The color isn't generally the same as the final product.
And finally, this is the beautiful finished product. Melony is a great patient and we are really happy with her new smile.
